Hello and welcome
I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and the great outdoors;
I was an Angler for over 30 years but gave it up a few years ago to
concentrate on photographing wildlife. I lived in Runcorn; Cheshire a
short distance from the M56 that gave me great access to the Wirral,
Northwales and Lancashire, with some great countryside on my doorstep
I didn't have to travel too far in search of wildlife and photographic
opportunities.
Some of my wildlife photographs range from as far afield as Cuba,
Antigua, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Tuscany ,
Corfu, Turkey, Spain, Portugal.
I now live in the Charente area of western France.

I don’t have to travel far for a garden safari; I just open a window and point my lens out.
I do have to have some camouflage on the window and it helps keep the noise from the shutter down.
So what can I expect? ----- Depending on the time of year.
Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Goldcrest, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Redpoll, Siskin, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Tree Creeper, Jay, Magpie, Wren, Dunnock, Blackbird, House Sparrow, Starling, Song Thrush, Redwing, Sparrowhawk, Chaffinch, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Pied Wagtail, Moorhen, Robin, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Nuthatch, Brambling, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove.

Here are some of my favourite photos some from the window and some from the shed.

The first thing that came into focus was a Water Rail; it didn’t stay long before it disappeared into the reed bed. I managed a few shots as I was distracted by a Buzzard flying over the lake.

Amongst the ducks on the lake small groups of Widgeon and Shovelers came within range for a photograph.

Flying Beetles

These flying beetles landed in my moth trap when I was in France a few weeks ago, only just looked at the images.

The large diving beetle was enormous, the biggest beetle I have ever seen.
