Hello and welcome
I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and the great outdoors;
I was an Angler for over 30 years but gave it up a few years ago to
concentrate on photographing wildlife. I lived in Runcorn; Cheshire a
short distance from the M56 that gave me great access to the Wirral,
Northwales and Lancashire, with some great countryside on my doorstep
I didn't have to travel too far in search of wildlife and photographic
opportunities.
Some of my wildlife photographs range from as far afield as Cuba,
Antigua, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Tuscany ,
Corfu, Turkey, Spain, Portugal.
I now live in the Charente area of western France.
A late trip to Burton Marsh to view the Buff-bellied Pipit and the Siberian Chiffchaff near Station Road didn’t produce the results I wanted.

Male & Female Stonechats and a Wheatear feeding on the tide line was all I could find to photograph.

I lights a bit too harsh for me and I don’t like the background.
Purple rain, well it wasn’t raining Purple Sandpipers but at least eight were roosting at high tide

First trip out of the New Year and it’s off to the Wirral for the high tide; it’s the only good day as far as the weather goes this week, and it’s a not too far to drive, making it the best option.

More Later
The last 12 months seemed to have passed very quickly, I’ve had some good opportunities and more variety
of subjects to photograph this year.
I suppose you have good years and bad years. 2013 has been a good year for me although
I have missed some opportunities I should have responded to.
I’ve managed a few shots that I am happy with predominantly it’s been the Slavonian Grebe, Great Crested Grebe weed dance the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Little Ringed Plover, Black Necked Grebe, Yellow Wagtail, Redstart, Kingfisher, Yellowhammer, Hoopoe, Hummingbird Hawk Moth and Bee-fly, Ring Ouzel, Red Grouse, Glossy Ibis.
