Hello and welcome
I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and the great outdoors;
I was an Angler for over 30 years but gave it up a few years ago to
concentrate on photographing wildlife. I lived in Runcorn; Cheshire a
short distance from the M56 that gave me great access to the Wirral,
Northwales and Lancashire, with some great countryside on my doorstep
I didn't have to travel too far in search of wildlife and photographic
opportunities.
Some of my wildlife photographs range from as far afield as Cuba,
Antigua, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Tuscany ,
Corfu, Turkey, Spain, Portugal.
I now live in the Charente area of western France.

As I was watching Black Redstarts hunting insects next to the wildflower bed a Hoopoe flew in to feed at the bottom of the garden.

I struggled to get a photograph of them as they would not keep still long enough to get a good shot.

Back from France after a busy week working on the house and garden, that left no time to take any photographs
other than insects in the garden.
After arriving on Monday morning; the first job was to cut the grass which was very long after 8 weeks of being left to grow. On my last visit I scattered some wildflower seeds which are now attracting lots of insects.

As I cut the grass under the watchful eye of a Little Owl in the barn next door I managed a few shots using my 300mm F4 (not the lens I wish I had with me but that’s all I could fit in my hand luggage on the plane).

We are back in France for a week and hoping for some good weather as we intend to explore some of the local sites.
On our Last trip we passed Chateau de Montbrun the place where Richard the Lionheart died.
