Hello and welcome
I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and the great outdoors;
I was an Angler for over 30 years but gave it up a few years ago to
concentrate on photographing wildlife. I lived in Runcorn; Cheshire a
short distance from the M56 that gave me great access to the Wirral,
Northwales and Lancashire, with some great countryside on my doorstep
I didn't have to travel too far in search of wildlife and photographic
opportunities.
Some of my wildlife photographs range from as far afield as Cuba,
Antigua, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Tuscany ,
Corfu, Turkey, Spain, Portugal.
I now live in the Charente area of western France.
Mouse trap
Over the past few weeks I have had a Mouse in the garden it’s nothing unusual as I do get them from time to time, they don’t survive long as one or two cats that visit the garden after birds usually catch them. This one lives under the header pool for the pond; I have tried to photograph it as it runs over a log that straddles the pond but it’s too fast.
The pump for the waterfall is never switch on because the Pond has Newts in it, so it makes the header pool a perfect home for the Mouse.
As I have to stay in for a delivery I thought I would set up a camera trap and see if I can at last photograph it. I placed some bird seed near the header pool and retreated back to the house and waited for the Mouse to appear.

It didn’t have to wait long before the Mouse came out to investigate, as I watched the Mouse come into frame the Flashed didn’t fire, not a good start. After resetting the trigger and placing some more bait there I retreated into the house again. This time it worked fine, the Mouse didn’t seem to be put off by the flash guns, not bad for the first attempt.

At this time of year it can be difficult to get any photographs, you end up spending time, money and chasing your tail for little return.
I am lucky to have Redpoll and Siskin turning up in my garden most days along with a variety of other birds.

The opening page on my web site has changed due to me changing the price plan. The format is the same except the home page is not as good as it was. I am still trying to sort it out but it could take some time.

Valentine’s Day treat
On Valentine’s Day I had to cook my wife something to eat as she cooks most other days.
I was going to do the meal for two from M&S but decided to cook something special for her as she likes Italian food. However disaster struck as I couldn’t find the tin opener, so the spaghetti hoops were off the menu.
Plan B swung into action but on presenting the alternative meal it soon became apparent the Turkey dinosaurs were still frozen.
Hope next year will be better.
