Hello and welcome
I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and the great outdoors;
I was an Angler for over 30 years but gave it up a few years ago to
concentrate on photographing wildlife. I lived in Runcorn; Cheshire a
short distance from the M56 that gave me great access to the Wirral,
Northwales and Lancashire, with some great countryside on my doorstep
I didn't have to travel too far in search of wildlife and photographic
opportunities.
Some of my wildlife photographs range from as far afield as Cuba,
Antigua, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Tuscany ,
Corfu, Turkey, Spain, Portugal.
I now live in the Charente area of western France.

Yesterday evening I was sat in the back garden having a glass of red wine with my wife and listening to the sound of Hoopoe calling to each other from the trees, one landed on the garden fence I had my camera to hand and took a few shots.

They must nest in the hamlet in one of the old barns very close to me as you always see and hear them.

Black- Eared Wheatear
Black-Eared Wheatear: Kefalonia Greece
Back from Kefalonia, Greece after over two weeks holiday. It wasn’t a photographic holiday,
but I did take the 7Dmk 2 along with 100-400 5.6 mk 2 and a Manfrotto befree tripod.
The weather was a bit mixed but overall it was good, although it was sometime too bright to use the camera and Wildlife is difficult to find.It took me a few days to find an only bit of wetland near me (one hours drive).
The Bird list included: Baillon’s Crake, Black-eared wheatear, Black-winged Stilt, Squacco Heron, Littler Egret, Purple Heron, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, Pied Flycatcher, Firecrest, Spanish Sparrow, Chaffinch, Great Tit, Corn Bunting and some other wading birds yet to look at. Only three different lizards. Moorish Gecko, and two other types yet to be identified. A few butterflies: Green Hairstreak, Wall Brown, Clouded Yellow, Brimstone, Wood White.
